More than just a Logo
The Deutsches Technikmuseum presents itself in a new, modern design. The visual appearance meets visitors at eye level - lively, versatile, and accessible for young and old alike. Clear shapes, strong colors, and a friendly robot as a visual symbol give the brand its own identity and emphasize the connection between people and technology.
A Brand with Attitude

The museum appeals to families, school classes, and kindergarten children, while also being an exciting place for technology enthusiasts and experts. The new brand positioning creates clarity: it is about the connection between people and technology in the context of current and socially relevant topics that shape the world today and tomorrow. Every exhibition, every presentation, and every ticket shapes the image of the museum. After all, a strong brand is created not only through logos and colors, but also through clear values, a consistent appearance, and a memorable visual identity.
Why a New Design?
Since 2014, the blue diamond pattern has characterized the museum's look, and the logo dates back to 2001. But the museum continues to evolve - as do viewing habits and design requirements. It is time for a modern appearance that appeals to the diversity of the target groups. The new design strengthens the position of the Deutsches Technikmuseum as one of the most important institutions for the history of technology in Europe and makes it even more visible in the cultural hotspot of Berlin.

Flexible design for a versatile institution
In collaboration with the design agency "Neue Gestaltung", a flexible, modular design concept was developed. Clear geometric shapes - circles, triangles, squares - dynamically come together to form a robot that now visually represents the museum.
Why a robot? Because it symbolizes the connection between humans and technology, representing inventiveness and a forward-looking approach. Sometimes lively with illustrative elements, sometimes minimalist, but always clearly recognizable as the face of the museum. The geometric shapes can be combined in various ways to create cars, locomotives, airplanes, or even a piggy bank. This versatility makes the new look lively and adaptable.
Colors, Typography, and Digital Presence

The color scheme has been modernized: clear, contrasting colors create a fresh, dynamic effect. The new typography meets accessibility standards and supports the modern design. The strength of the new look is particularly evident in digital media: animated elements and interactive applications make the design on the website and social networks even more lively. The new color palette, the friendly robot, and the direct, eye-level approach give the museum a forward-looking image—with an optimism that society needs right now.
A uniform visual language
Five different sub-brands - including the foundation, the Science Center Spectrum, Kids Digilab, and the Junior Campus - made the previous brand architecture complex. The new corporate design ensures uniformity and clear communication both internally and externally.
Technology made appealing to everyone
Technology fascinates, challenges, and inspires - and that's exactly what the new design reflects. The design language creatively appeals to families and children, while at the same time conveying seriousness and professionalism to experts.
With the new design, the Deutsches Technikmuseum makes visible what it stands for: a bridge between the past and the present, between people and technology, between creative freedom and a contemporary attitude.
