Free admission under 18!

We make the museum more affordable for families and school classes

Zwei Kinder stehen nebeneinander.

Good news for all Deutsches Technikmuseum fans: Since December 2022, the entry fee has been waived for everyone under the age of 18 or up to the end of their regular schooling.

With this innovation, we want to make access to the museum and the Science Center Spectrum much easier for families as well as school children. All other admission prices remain the same.

Simply drop by. Simply participate. Simply for You.

"By admitting persons under 18 free of charge, we continue to remove potential barriers to museum attendance. Drawing on the motto 'Simply drop by. Simply participate. Simply for You.' we signal to families, children and young people that they are more than welcome here," says Joachim Breuninger, Director of the Deutsches Technikmuseum. "The many free offers for families and school classes in our facilities serve to bolster the museum's role as an easily accessible venue for fellowship and interaction and in doing so conveys and embodies a clear message, especially in this time of crises."

Many free workshops

In conjunction with the launch of the special exhibition "Repair!" Deutsches Technikmuseum is also offering bookable free repair workshops for school children as well as free open attendance family workshops on the topic of repair on the weekends. For the family workshops, only the adults have to pay the museum entrance fee. Further info at our Website of the exhibition „Repair!“

By the way: our bookable workshops for daycare groups and school classes at the Junior Campus (program and information in German only) and all the programs on offer at kids.digilab.berlin (program and information in German only), which is sponsored by the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family, are free of charge as well.

Generally speaking, all open admission activities such as workshops or guided tours and demonstrations at the Deutsches Technikmuseum are free of charge. For these, only the museum entrance fee must be paid. A listing of such open admission activities can be found here at our online calendar (information in German only).
